X Muscat Barrel

This is rum with memory drawn from the remnants of six past lives and reborn in oak. Each distillation contributes a fragment of character, complexity, and depth. Once amassed, these fractions are redistilled with intent, capturing the overlooked magic hidden in their layers. The resulting spirit was laid to rest in a 100 litre American oak cask that once held rich Seppeltsfield Muscat, where it aged for 3 years and 5 months under dry conditions. A generous 17% angel's share speaks to the slow, greedy work of time and wood.

Tasting notes:

  • Nose: lemon, butterscotch and copper
  • Palate: Leading with Cocoa and dried raisins mid-palate, following through with saddle leather, oak and gingerbread
  • Mouthfeel: Oily with a pepper finish.
  • Method: Double Pot Distilled
  • Yeast: Wild Muck & Ale Yeast
  • Maturation: 3yrs 5 months
  • Barrel: American Oak & Ex Seppeltsfield Muscat

Zero additives except reverse osmosis water to break back to bottle strength.

Non-chill filtered.
